Nine transport unions in Ogun State have declared their support for Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement was announced at a rally held at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta. The unions, operating under the Transport Unions Alliance for Yayi, said their decision was based on Adeola’s experience, leadership capacity and record of public service.
Adeola thanked the unions for their support and promised to build on the state’s development if elected governor.
Governor Dapo Abiodun described the endorsement as historic and urged transport operators to avoid arbitrary increases in fares, highlighting the state government’s investment in road infrastructure.
The endorsement comes as political activities intensify ahead of the next governorship election.
