Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff, following the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi.
The governor also appointed Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office.
The appointments were announced in letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Akinwole, a grassroots politician, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain her existing position while taking on her new responsibilities.
Both appointments take immediate effect.
Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their duties with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.
The appointments follow Ogunwuyi’s resignation as Chief of Staff on Monday. In his resignation letter, he expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve, without stating a specific reason for his departure.
