Makinde Promises One-Term Presidency If Elected in 2027

Oyo State Governor and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, has promised to serve only one four-year term if elected president in the 2027 general elections.

Makinde made the pledge on Saturday during the APM North-East 2027 town hall meeting in Yola, Adamawa State, where he unveiled plans for a transitional Government of National Unity.

“Our government will not last beyond four years. And it will be an all-inclusive government,” he said.

The governor explained that his proposed administration would focus on national unity, tackling insecurity, reducing poverty, improving electricity supply and addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.

He said the government would prioritise inclusiveness and ensure that no section of the country feels politically excluded.

Makinde’s pledge comes as political parties and presidential hopefuls intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
